The Thermal Centrifuge is a machine from IndustrialCraft2 Experimental used in the processing of ores (forming the third stage after processing by a Macerator and an Ore Washing Plant) and is needed for obtaining Uranium 235. It can accept up to 128 EU/t, uses 48 EU/t per default and has an internal storage capacity of 48000 EU. As opposed to other machines utilizing heat (like e.g. the Blast Furnace) the Thermal Centrifuge doesn't need an external heat source.

Function[edit]

The Thermal Centrifuge consumes 24000 EU to process one item. Furthermore every item has a specific heat requirement which must be met before the actual processing takes places.

If inputs are present the Thermal Centrifuge will heat up at a rate of 1 hu/t until the heat requirement is met, otherwise it will cool down at a rate of 1 hu/t. 1 EU/t is used while building up or keeping heat (in other words: 1 EU --> 1 hu).

A redstone signal can be applied to keep the machine heated even when there are no inputs, where it will build up to 5000 hu (similar to an Induction Furnace). Please note however that inserting an item with a lower heat requirement than the current level will lower the current level and all excess heat is lost, but processing will start immediately, instead of waiting for heating up to required level. Then go back to 5,000 HU once all items has been processed.
