Magma Block is a vanilla Minecraft block that generates in the Nether and in ravines in the oceans. It will set every mob or player on fire that steps on it and will burn indefinitely without being destroyed like Netherrack. A player can avoid the damage when sneaking on top of it.
Since MC 1.13 it is a useful tool when being underwater. It will serve as a light source and will create bubble columns which allow the player to breathe.
