Horse is a mob added by vanilla Minecraft, that spawns naturally in Plains and Savanna biomes. It can be tamed by right-clicking (mounting) it several times. Once tamed, the player can add a Saddle and a Diamond, Golden or Iron Horse Armor and ride them.

Feeding[edit]

The player can give different items to the Horse, speeding up the taming process, healing the horse, allow it to breed or speeding up the growth process of a Baby Horse. Hay Bales cannot be fed to untamed horses.

Mods[edit]

With the Scroll of Mobility, an item added by Arcane Scrolls, the player can summon an already tamed Horse.

The Thaumic Horizons adds Mob Infusions, that change a Horse to a Skeletal Horse, a Zombie Horse or an Endersteed, which can teleport. An other way to turn it into a Zombie Horse, is to right-click it with a Necrodermal Virus from Botania, whereas a Nullodermal Virus will turn it into a Skeleton Horse.

Horses will drop a Brown Mob Chunk when placed in a Force Grinder from the DartCraft mod.

When a Horse falls into a Smeltery from Tinkers' Construct, it will produce Glue on death.

Trivia[edit]

  • The Horses originally came from DrZhark's "Mo' Creatures" mod and the modder assisted Team Mojang on implementing them.

Note[edit]

  1. The stats for health, walking speed and jump height varies for each horse.
