Fire is a block that will spread to other nearby flammable blocks and damage any entities within it. Once it has burned for a while on a burnable block, such as Wood, it will destroy the block.
Recipe[edit]
Fire is not obtainable in item form except for give
commands. It can be created in its block form by using a Flint and Steel or a Fire Charge on any burnable block.
Note: as of Minecraft version 1.8.0 fire can ONLY be obtained through the Flint and Steel method due to /give @p 51 (1.3-1.6.4) and /give @p minecraft:fire (1.7-1.7.10) no longer functioning. If the command is used the player will be told "there is no such item "minecraft:fire"."
