The Redstone Energy Conduit is an block added by the Thermal Expansion mod. It uses kinetic-electric conversion properties of Molten Redstone to transmit MJ power (Minecraft Joules) and Redstone Flux, similar to Conductive Pipes. Conduits will connect to any BuildCraft compatible machine that uses or generates MJ or RF power. They will supply power to (or accept it from) any object that accepts MJ power (or sends MJ power) using the BuildCraft API. Redstone Energy Conduits lose 5 percent of their carried power [1] regardless of distance. The loss occurs at the entry point connection of the conduit network to an energy source such as at an engine or Redstone Energy Cell. Conduits will not explode if carrying unused power, making them an effective solution when seeking a "run and forget" system.
Recipe[edit]
Mechanics[edit]
A Crescent Hammer or any BuildCraft compatible Wrench can be used to interact with the Conduit.
Mode[edit]
'Right-clicking' on a Conduit, that is connected to a block producing or consuming energy, will toggle its mode. Input-only mode is indicated by a blue inward arrow, while output-only mode is displayed by an orange outward arrow. This cannot be changed per side: all sides of a piece of conduit will have the same mode.
Dismantle[edit]
These blocks are somewhat robust, although if dismantled ('Shift+Right-click') with the Crescent Hammer, they will instantly be removed.
Usage[edit]
Redstone Energy Conduit has no known uses in crafting.
Note[edit]
- ↑ In FTB Unleashed there is no energy loss.

Known Bug[edit]
- Interaction with Gates: Redstone Energy Conduit appears to act like a machine that can store energy, having the ability to send signals such as Capacitor Fully Charged to a neighboring gate. This is probably intentional. However, the conduit appears to always be at least "partially charged" if it has ever carried a charge. In order to detect if a machine is holding a charge, the gate must be placed so that it is not adjacent to any of the conduit supplying or draining the machine.
- Attempting to move this block using Support Frames may cause a chunk reset or worse.
