The Tank is a storage container for water, lava, Oil, Fuel and Creosote. Tanks can store liquids and gases from other mods too, such as BiomassBiofuel and Honey. Each tank holds 16 buckets of liquid. BuildCraft Fluid Pipes will connect to them, as will Liquiducts

Tanks stacked on top of each other must all contain the same liquid. If broken, tanks will lose their contents (as opposed to the smaller Portable Tank).

Setting up your Tanks[edit]

Using tanks is somewhat difficult to grasp starting out.  The rules for tanks are:

1. All machines that produce fluid for tanks are able to 'pump' the material out on their own without the help of an engine so long as: a) the machine is on and producing the fluid; b) the tank is set down next to the operating machine or connected to the machine via pipe.

2. Tanks already in world can be filled with fluid from a source by 'pumping' the material in with BuildCraft Pipe and an engine.

3. Tanks can normally be filled with a fluid container like a bucket, bottle, can or cell; Bottles and Buckets return to your inventory while Cans and Cells will be consumed, provided: a) the tank is 'primed' with the fluid type already inside; b) the tank was set down immediately before filling.

Bugs[edit]

Sometimes, when leaving the chunk where your tanks are, your tanks will forget how to receive fluid from a bucket or other inventory source.  This will usually happen when the tank is empty, rarely when the tank has some of the fluid type.  To fix this, break and replace the bottom most tank or, break and replace one of the tanks in the stack.
