Thaumatorium is a multiblock structure added by the Thaumcraft 4 mod. It allows to fully automate Alchemy. It is 3 blocks tall. Heat source (Nitor, Lava or Fire) should be placed under it to make it work. However, no Water is needed for the process.

The middle front side is for solid item output. The items created by the Thaumatorium will be either placed in any buffer inventory attached to this side or dropped if no available buffer is found.

The top side is for catalyst input. The items can be inserted using a Hopper or any compatible pipe, duct or bus.

All of the other sides, both middle or top, can be used to input liquid Essentia or operate with a Mnemonic Matrix. If Thaumic Energistics is used, Essentia Provider should be placed right next to the Thaumatorium, without any tubes in between.

In the GUI the top left slot is for catalyst which can be inserted from the top. The catalyst will be applied to the recipe and used from this slot once all the Essentia is gathered. Multiple copies can be put in the stack and the catalyzation will continue until either the catalyst or essentia provided is exhausted.

The line in the bottom of the GUI can support up to 6 different Essentia types, even though there are recipes that need 8 Essentia types, and such recipes will have arrows added to the sides of the line, allowing to scroll the Essentia types back and forth. Each type of the Essentia will have a small line under it, which fills as the Thaumatorium accepts this type of Essentia. Once all of the types are filled, the catalyst will be applied, and the recipe will complete, then the result will be extracted.

Thaumonomicon Entry[edit]

"Up to now alchemy has been somewhat of a hit and miss affair - miscounted aspects, degrading essentia and ingredients that require manual labor to mix. This is finally a thing of the past.

The Thaumatorium is a marvelous invention that allows a thaumaturge to select which formula to use and what catalysts to add. It then automatically draws essentia from available sources using tubes. As long as there is a supply of catalyst it produces the required object perfectly, every time.

The crucible that forms its base does not require water, but a heat source is still needed.

When you access this device you will see several slots. The top-left slot is where you place the catalyst. Once you have done this you will be able to choose which recipe you wish to craft with that catalyst from a list of possibilities in the top right slot.

The bottom bar shows the essentia required in the order they will be required. It will also display progress bars once the machine is in operation.

The created object is ejected out the front of the device or into an inventory placed in front of the ejection port.

Normally a Thaumatorium can only have one active formula, but by attaching a Mnemonic Matrix to its side you can increase the number of formulas it can keep track.

Each matrix increases the number of formulas by 2."
