The Powered Rail (renamed as Booster Track if you have Railcraft installed) is a block that is used to stop or increase momentum of moving minecarts. When the rail is powered by a redstone current, it will accelerate a minecart up to a maximum speed. When the rail is unpowered, it acts as a brake. If the minecart is on a powered rail with a solid block at one end, the powered rail will launch the cart in the opposite direction when given a redstone signal.
If Railcraft is installed, the name and recipe are altered.
