Rainbow Oak Leaves is a type of Twilight Forest Leaves found in Rainbow Oaks in the Enchanted Forest biome in the Twilight Forest. They are found in conjunction with Twilight Oak Wood and are interspersed seemingly at random with normal Twilight Oaks. Rainbow Oak Leaves share the sprite with other vanilla leaves, such as Birch Leaves and Oak Leaves. They also appear in the same formation as regular Oak Leaves, as Rainbow Oaks generate in exactly the same patterns as normal oaks.
Rainbow Oak Leaves change color based on their location on the X, Y and Z axes instead of based on biome, facilitating the "rainbow" effect of the leaves. This is an attribute shared by other "magic" trees, such as the Tree of Time or the Tree of Transformation, although Rainbow Oak Leaves appear to be able to access the entire hexadecimal color spectrum depending on location whereas the leaves of other trees are tied to a specific portion of the spectrum.
When broken normally, Rainbow Oak Leaves sometimes drop a Rainbow Oak Sapling. However, this seems to be more rare than normal sapling drops from vanilla trees, and as such, the player may not always get a sapling back from the tree. They can also be harvested with Shears to collect the block itself. In the inventory, Rainbow Oak Leaves appear exactly identical to normal Oak Leaves, making it hard to tell them apart outside of their tooltip, as Rainbow Oak Leaves only take on color after being placed.
