A chest that doesn't wait to be filled

Thaumonomicon Entry[edit]
"You've managed to create a variation upon the greedy chest that focuses its attention on the person opening it instead of its neighbors. By tempering the pearl used in its construction, the Eager Chest is imbued with the desire to "trade" rather than steal. It is still rather impatient about this and so will immediately attempt to give and take items when opened.
You've intentionally left some holes in its senses, allowing you to sneak up to it when you want to look inside without triggering a trade. Additionally, the chest won't trade with people it doesn't recognize, which at first would be anyone but the person who placed it, but others can introduce themselves by use of a wand.
A wand is also necessary in order to tell the chest what should be considered a proper trade. By default, a certain level of greed slips through, as it will take anything it senses is valuable while giving only things it doesn't value - although in truth, that is how it works even with runic whitelists or blacklists installed. The difference is only that those lists skew its evaluations.
On another note, you suspect that this amalgam you've concocted will be valued highly by pechs."
