Regarding TC4 and GT5[edit]

First of all I would like to thank you for your contributions to the wiki! However, as you are active not for long, you may not know some of the other admins and their work. I write here to clarify. I am the one who has documented TC4 and its addons and separated TC into TC3 and TC4, allowing for further versions added and easier disambiguation. TC4 documentation is pretty much finished, along with the mod, which is also in it's final release for several years now. New content may and should be added only to cross-mod integration, such as between TC4 and other mods. However, documenting newer or older versions of the mod requires additional caution so that does not mess the existing articles.

GT5 however is in a different state. For many years GT2/GT3 was documented poorly under the tag "GregTech" and many contributors added random articles/edits from all its versions here and there. I also separated the existing documentation of GT from newer versions (5 and 6) and started documenting version 5 (along with 5 Unofficial). Obviously, GT is massive, and furthermore, version 5 differs from 5 Unofficial in a lot of things, first of all being forge compatibility, due to which original GT5 is unplayable with Forge 1614, which is required for all other 1.7.10 MC mods. GT5 Unofficial, however, is. So, if you are to document GT5 Unofficial (GT5U), you need to get the latest build, which is very rare to be known of, the 5.09.32pre5, which is very different from "official" wide-spread release .31. You also need Thaumcraft 4 installed as all, well, almost all GT5U items have Thaumcraft aspects you have to add in the first place, otherwise in overcomplicates the article refactoring, you also need WAILA, TC InvScan, WAWLA, NEI Integration and most importantly WikiAssist - the admin-only mod for article stub creation, otherwise you will spend hours on nothing. So, well, not much you can do unprepared.

However, GT has cross-mod integration nearly to every existing mod in 1.7.10, so I have decided to omit everything else related to cross-mod integration while documenting it and move it out in a separate navbox after the default documentation is done... Which it is not in over 2 years and 25 000+ edits... Ehh.

As for now, the GT5U documentation is smth like "on hold". I will probably return to it when I have the guts to spend another hundred hours on article refactoring noone will probably notice required to continue further. You can contribute to it, of course, I cannot forbid you, but I highly recommend you not to do it, GT has consumed so many active contributors already (including me), so I just don't want you to become one of them. It's something you can hardly finish in nearby future if you start. Aspecially when there are so many other mods significantly easier and more enjoyable to document.

Cheers,

Viewing deleted pages[edit]

Hello. If you want to see the content of a deleted page, you don't have to restore it. When you click on the (view/restore) button, there is a "Page history" paragraph at the bottom. You can click on the date of the revision of the page to see it without the need to restore it. --AppleTree (talk) 14:16, 21 May 2019 (CEST)
