Naming Convention[edit]
Hey Kahless. General consensus (which is also noted in the Style Guide) is item names should always reflect their in-game name, which is the case for the Roots and Liveroots pages you just moved. I thought it makes sense to stay as true to FTB as possible and it is what we've been working with for a while. Do you think this rule should be revised? Artsja (talk) 19:45, 12 February 2013 (CET)
- I was going by the Style Guide: Feed_The_Beast_Wiki:Style_Guide#Page_Titles_and_Headings which says to use singular form. Whilst the prior section does say that they should "reflect their in-game name", that does not clarify what to do about singular or plural. Technically, "Liveroot" does reflect the in-game name of Liveroots. Since the singular form section appears next, I would assume it supercedes. Furthermore, again, unlike the prior section, this section also does clarify what to do with singular vs plural form. I think the style guide should be clarified to whatever effect seems most appropriate, and I'll gladly go either way; I simply edit and enforce according to my interpretation of the style guide, and this time I may have mistakenly interpreted the style guide. (cont'd)
- You're welcome to open this up for discussion, although I don't know that too much can be said on the matter. The only defence that I can think up for the singular form is what I said - it helps disambiguate. Which would you visit if you are trying to learn about the Liveroot block, Liveroots vs Liveroot, or Liveroot (Block) vs Liveroot (Item)? Furthermore, I've noticed this exact same confusion with Soul Shards (which refers to the mod) and Soul Shard. Before we moved from wikia, the page discussion had a few people saying they got them confused, and the articles themselves had so much overlap (and may still) that it seemed like the article writers themselves may have even gotten confused. --Kahless61 (talk) 20:00, 12 February 2013 (CET)
- You are correct, the Style Guide is very unclear in that aspect. I was thinking about that too when I messaged you. That's my mistake, apologies for that. I agree with your reasoning for page naming as well. Your suggestion seems like a more sensible solution that'll efficiently clear up confusion. I'll go ahead and add that to the style guide then. Thanks! Artsja (talk) 20:19, 12 February 2013 (CET)
Rollback[edit]
Hey Kahless, FallenAngel44 here. I just can't say how much I want to thank you. And I'm also wondering on how did you rollback the pages? Will be useful if i screw up again >< —Preceding unsigned comment added by FallenAngel44 (talk · contribs)
- If you click on the History for the page, you'll see a log of all changes to the page. The most recent change will have a link next to it that says "Rollback X edits", depending on how many consecutive changes the user made. Clicking that link will rollback the page to the version from the previous editor. There is also the Undo link, which can be used to undo a single revision. Note that whatever kind of rollback/undo that you do will also show up in the log, so if you screw up doing a rollback or accidentally rollback something, we can rollback your rollback. Also, when you talk on a talk page, please sign your messages with 4 tildes (~~~~) and it will auto-complete with your signature (as seen here:) --Kahless61 (talk) 20:40, 12 August 2013 (CEST)
UU Matter[edit]
Was passing by... Fel's talk page
- Protecting it to only Registered users (as I requested) would have been sufficient, but Administrators (as you set it to) is fine too. --Kahless61 (talk) 19:45, 11 November 2013 (CET)
- Did I? It said "contributors and administrators" :/ Can you not edit it now? OstPavel (talk) 20:07, 11 November 2013 (CET)
- It looks like I can edit it. It gives me an edit page with a save button, I was just going by the warning message at the top, "Warning: This page has been protected so that only users with administrator privileges can edit it". So if that warning is shown even though non-administrators (e.g. contributors) can edit, then the warning is misleading. -Kahless61 (talk) 20:46, 11 November 2013 (CET)

Oreberries[edit]
Really? Aluminum oreberries make ANOTHER kind of aluminum?! x.x . ƒelinoel_ 00:54, 16 November 2013 (CET)
- Yes. Xycraft and Gregtech were both removed from Unleashed (Xycraft skipped 1.5), meaning that the only aluminum now is Tinker's Construct. In 1.6, we may see all 3 aluminums reappear. It's always been one of my biggest irks with FTB is that it never found a way to merge different mod ores, so we saw 5 different kinds of copper in 1.4, and in 1.5 we still see 3. -Kahless61 (talk) 01:40, 16 November 2013 (CET)
