ME P2P Tunnels allow for very dense cable connections using Applied Energistics 2 channels. One ME P2P tunnel may pass along 32 channels of data using just a normal covered or smart cable, and up to 4 PAIRS of tunnel nodes may exist on such a cable (8 total nodes for one channel each). These devices become especially advantageous when using a multiblock ME Controller (as seen below in the example).

Setup of these ME tunnels is much the same as the other older P2P tunnels. Simply connect an ME P2P tunnel node to the network, then shift-right-click with an ME Memory Card to save the settings. Run your smart, glass, or covered cable to where you will need it, then connect the other tunnel node and pair it by right-clicking with the same ME Memory Card (it should indicate that settings have been successfully loaded). HOWEVER, please note, that the length of cable between the two tunnel nodes will not be powered unless you connect another powered ME cable to it (fluix-colored cabling is ideal for this since it will connect to any other color).

Example[edit]

Let's say we have a multiblock 3x3x3 controller set up. If the design is hollow in the center, that gives us 8 usable controller faces per cardinal direction (then 8 up and 8 down). To consolidate our outgoing cabling, we decide to place 4 ME P2P tunnels on the west side of the controller so we can run it to our massive farming setup. We attach the tunnel nodes DIRECTLY to the controller and run a blue smart cable over each, then outwards toward the farms (that's one cable total). To POWER this line, we choose to use a fluix-colored dense cable coming from the center-inside of the controller. It connects to our blue line immediately one block from the controller and provides the needed power. We immediately see that four channels are in use on the smart cable. Now, at the farms, we connect four more ME P2P tunnels to our blue smart cable. This uses up the remaining 4 channels. Now we link the tunnel nodes (one pair at a time!) using an ME Memory Card. Finally, we connect a separate line of dense cable to each P2P node at the farm. We now have 4 fully-usable dense cables at our farm, capable of handling 32 devices each. So, with one main cable run, we get 128 total channels! If we carry on using the remaining faces on the controller in a similar way, we can have a total of 12 smart cables carrying a whopping 1536 channels!
