The Clockwork Engine is an engine added by Forestry. It's an early-game engine as it doesn't need any fuel. To power the engine, the Player has to hold the right-mouse button, and the tip of the engine will change from blue to green to yellow to orange and finally to red. The engine's piston will stop moving while it is wound. When the engine is at the red phase, the Player should stop winding the Clockwork Engine, otherwise the engine will damage them; there is a special death message, "Player was stabbed by a loose spring." if the player is killed by this damage. It will output between 0.5 and 1.5 MJ/tick depending on how much it is wound.

Config[edit]

In the config folder, you will find a forestry folder. This folder in turn holds a gamemodes folder. Each of the .conf files inside represent one of the four gamemodes which are available in the game. All of these files have individual settings for the Clockwork Engine.

  • energy.demand.modifier: This value determines how much energy the engine needs to run, as well as the maximum amount it will store.
  • energy.engine.clockwork: Allows the engine to be enabled or disabled. (false will disable it)
